Wir haben das in Wien lebende Model zum Interview gebeten.

Hello Martina, first of all many thanks for your time! How are you and where are you at the moment?
Hello, thanks, I am really well! At the moment I am at home in Vienna.

How did you get into modelling?
I went to my model agency Wienermodels and introduced myself. My mum and my boyfriend advised me to do so.

Hallo Martina, vielen Dank erstmal für deine Zeit.  Wie geht´s dir und wo bist du gerade?
Hallo, mir geht´s sehr gut! Ich bin gerade zuhause in Wien.

Wie bist du zum Modeln gekommen?
Ich bin zu meine Agentur Wienermodels gegangen und habe mich vorgestellt. Meine Mutter und mein Freund haben mir dazu geraten!

Has it always been your dream to be a model?
When I was little I used to be a model in Bulgaria but I stopped when I was 9. After that I haven´t really thought about it anymore.

Your agency?
My mother agency is Wienermodels. In NY, Milan, Stockholm, Munich, Hamburg and London I have agencies as well.

War das schon von klein auf dein Traum?
Als ich klein war war ich schon Model in Bulgarien, mit 9 aber habe ich aufgehört und danach nicht mehr wirklich darüber nachgedacht….

Deine Agentur?
Meine Mutteragentur ist Wienermodels. In NY, Mailand, Stockholm, München, Hamburg und London habe ich auch eine Agentur.

What is the best part about modelling?
Travelling and the pictures that you get… The money is  not a disadvantage either ;)

And what don´t you like about it?
That my hair is being destroyed. :) But I think it´s not a high price to pay…

In your opinion, when is a woman beautiful?
When she is self confident and charismatic and shows strength.

Was ist das Beste am Modeln?
Das Reisen und die Bilder die man bekommt… Das Geld ist auch kein Nachteil ;)

Und was gefällt dir weniger daran?
Das man meine Haare kaput macht :D Aber ich denke das ist kein zu hoher Preis…

Wann ist eine Frau schön für dich?
Wenn sie selbstbewusst und charismatisch ist, wenn sie was besonderes ausstrahlt und Stärke zeigt.

Do you have some tips for newcomers? What is important at the beginning of a modelling career? Only being beautiful doesn´t seem to be enough to be a model- how much ambition does one have to have?
Well, I think that you shouldn´t think too much about doing something wrong. You should always try to give your best and the most important thing is to always be professional- so always be neat ( hair, nails) and shaved, no nail polish or only clear nail polish. And no matter how unhappy you are with hair and make-up – don´t bitch around!! At the beginning you should try to do as many shootings as possible in order to achieve getting a strong portfolio, because this is our “demotape”! AND you really have to want it and make sacrifices- and don´t be above doing jobs for free…

Which cover do you really want to smarten up with you being on it? Vogue Italia

With the height of 1,70m you are rather short. Does that matter?
Of course there are many jobs that I don´t get because of this reason but there are plenty of others that I am able to get where the height isn´t that important,  or more precisely I compensate my disadvantage with other advantages…. I always try to give my best and be professional.

Hast Du ein paar Tipps für Newcomers? Was ist wichtig am Anfang der Modelkarriere? Man sagt ja, schön sein alleine reicht nicht um ein Model zu sein, wieviel Ehrgeiz muss man wirklich haben?
Also ich finde man sollte sich nicht zu viele Gedanken machen, dass man etwas falsch machen könnte, man sollte versuchen immer sein bestes zu geben und am wichtigsten ist professionell zu sein! d.h. immer sauber sein (Haare, Nägel), rasiert, kein Nagellack oder nur transparenten und egal wie unzufrieden man manchmal mit seinen Haaren oder Make up ist – nicht zicken!! Am Anfang sollte man versuchen so viele Shootings wie möglich zu machen um eine starke Mappe zusammen zu bekommen, weil das ist unser “demotape”! UND man muss es richtig wollen und dafür auch manchmal Opfer bringen, sich also nicht zu gut sein Jobs umsonst zu machen….

Welches Cover möchtest du unbedingt einmal verschönern? Vogue Italia

Mit 1,70m Grösse bist du eigentlich ja eher etwas kleiner. Spielt das eine Rolle?
Natürlich gibt es viele Jobs die ich nicht bekomme aus diesem Grund aber es gibt auch genug andere die ich bekomme bei welchen die Größe keine Rolle spielt, oder besser gesagt kompensiere ich meinen  Nachteil mit anderen Vorteilen….ich versuche immer mein bestes zu geben und professionell zu sein!

Is there any sort of photo series where you would say: No, I am not doing that one?
Yes, f.e. a photo series for the Playboy:)

Do you have a style icon?
There are a few woman that I admire, such as Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Madonna, Kate Moss – but I wouldn´t say that they are my role models.

Styling tip for this summer? I don´t have one. Everyone should find their own style.

Tell our readers something that they would have never thought about you?
I was an outsider in school.

Your motto in life is? Nobody can hurt me without my permission.

Love is…? Being happy.

Gibt es irgendeine Art von Photostrecke zu der du nein sagen würdest? Ja, z.b eine Strecke in Playboy :D

Hast du eine Stilikone oder ein Vorbild?
Es gibt ein paar Frauen die ich bewundere z.b Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Madonna, Kate Moss….aber ich würde nicht sagen das sie Vorbilder sind!

Styling Tip für den Sommer? Ich hab keinen  Stylingtip für den Sommer. Jeder sollte seinen eigenen Stil finden.

Erzähl unseren Lesern etwas über dich was sie nicht gedacht hätten?
In der Schule war ich eine Außenseiterin.
