C-Heads Asia attended at the 16th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Busan is the second largest city in South Korea. It has changed its English name from Pusan to Busan to bring it in line with standard translation.
The Busan Cinema Centre has been under construction since 2008 and now it finally open in September for the 16th BIFF. The new venue will function for screening and events during the festival period, but also as a symbolic structure representing the film culture and business in Asia.
BIFF is not just for Korean or Asian, there are total of 307 films from 70 countries 135 world premiere and international. Furthermore, commemorating the 50th year of friendship between Korea and Australia and Korea and Portugal, BIFF will screen a special series of Australian and Portuguese movies along with outstanding movies from Africa, South America and Southwest Asia.
The opening ceremony was held at the new Busan Cinema Centre on 6th October. C-Heads Asia was watching the ceremony surrounded by other presses from all over the world. Many celebrities and cinema industry people from all over the world were gathered at the new venue. It was amazing experience to be there and The atmosphere was full of excitement.
BIFF ended on 14th October 2011.
