Two days ago I received a mail from my sister. „Wolf Gang . Listen to those cool songs.“ Funny name I thought and went to youtube to search for some songs. And since then I have been playing them over and over again – Back to Back, The King and All of His Men, Lions in Cages etc..
There are not many musicians that blow me away from the start, there is a lot of sort of “background-music” out there, that you kind of forget about while listening to. But Wolf Gang really goes under your skin and you just have to listen to the great and unique voice of the 24-year old London based lead singer Max McElligott. His debut album Suego Faults had been released in July 2011 and the cool thing about it is that it was written and recorded solely by McElligott, co-produced by Dave Fridmann and McElligott. I read in his biography that he can play the piano, the drums, guitar, bass and assorted other instruments – I wish I could play just one of them…
But what else can I say, please just listen to these songs and you know what I am talking about!
And more good news: He is coming on tour with a band and if you happen to be lucky enough to live in one of those places then go and see them!
I will for sure be going to the Berlin concert on the 8th of December at the Comet Club – and can´t wait to tell you guys all about it (or maybe see you there!)
