The US dubstep scene and producers are (except Skrillex of course) not often mentioned in musical media, which is quite a shame. Because frankly, there are also quite a lot of talents. They just need to raise and be explored at the right time – like Sepalcure, a two-member project of Praveen Sharma (aka Braille) and Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum).
After two great EPs for Scuba`s Hotflush label, the US duo Sepalcure is now coming with their self-titled debut. Ten brand new tracks are a perfect mix of influences of UK house, dubstep or even house. If you know self-production of Braille or Machinedrum, you can definitely recognize footprints of each one on this album, which I think creates a perfect balance in their music.
Praveen and Travis met by accident in New York and became good friends. There wasn`t any idea to make music together till the moment when Praveen`s girlfriend Sougwen (who by the way is responsible for the fabulous artwork ) left for studies. The guys were hanging around and suddenly grabbed instruments and started to record it. And that was the beginning of the big Sepalcure thing. Composing became a little bit complicated after Travis moved to Berlin, but after almost a year they finally finished the whole album and released it on the 21st November.
Sepalcure promises a tour for 2012 with an exceptional visuals made by Soungwen. So, watch out!
