It all started at a club behind the loudspeaker. That´s where Deniz Cicek and Robert Heitmann met. And that´s also the also beginning of Kraków Loves Adana. Their new album “Interview” is a result of interviewing themselves and listening to what is inside. And inside is “a constant struggle which appears and disappears from time to time.” And on the outside beautiful music.
Life without music would be?
A mistake.
So I read that your second album “Interview” is basically the result of interviewing yourselves and listening to what´s inside. So what is inside?
A constant struggle which appears and disappears from time to time.
I guess that you just have to embrace your own insecurities and try not to get lost in the dark.
It also says in your press text “Away from imitating behavior, concrete role models or trend enslavement..” is that anyway possible since we are always influenced by our surrounding and things that already existed?
I think that you should set inspiration apart from imitation. Of course we are influenced by our surroundings. Nowadays it’s nearly impossible to create something groundbreaking. But you can have your own view, your own interpretation of the things and sounds that already existed. And that makes it special and interesting.
Btw, cool band name -how did you come up with the name?
It was just a play of words. Robert came up with the idea of putting names of cities together with the word “love”.
And how did you guys come together as a band?
We met in a club behind the loudspeakers.
What music are you listening to?
Desire and the Chromatics are great but we will always be listening to artists like Bright Eyes or Elliott Smith.
Where do you see yourself in a couple of years?
Somewhere else // still hungry // still together.
5 things you cannot live without?
Coffee, the time that heals, the sunrise as a constant, music, love.
Your favourite quote?
“A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity,
when for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise
and I can feel rather than think,
and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh.
I can never make these moments last.
I cling to them, but like everything, they fade.
I have lived my life on these moments.
They pull me back to the present, and I realize
that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be.”
( from the movie “A Single Man”)
