Tell us a bit about you, where are you from, age and what are you up to?
I’m a 23 year old photographer from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I’m currently working on a project about the commercial use of fashion photography and how to make it less shallow.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is my life, I work with images for money, I work with it for fun, I’m doing it in my free time and I’m doing it even when I was supposed to be doing something else. I can’t explain what I like about images so much, I believe people have to get involved with some kind of creative production to be fulfilled in life and photography is my choice. I’m lucky it’s my hobby and profession at the same time.
Your images are very sensual and aesthetic. What do you want to capture?
I want my photos to mean something. As everyone else’s I try to capture what I like and put my feelings and thoughts in it, the point is to find people who can relate to it. It’s all about my perspective of the world and my choices on what’s beautiful and what’s not, my images are an invitation.
What is your inspiration?
Everything, really. Mostly vintage things, songs, horror movies, dinosaurs and cupcakes.
Are you self-taught or do you have any photography related education?
I started in photography when I was very young and I can say those years of pure experimentation and practice taught me 70% of what I know nowadays. I’m also finishing my bachelor’s degree in photography this year, which was very useful to learn more about technique and theory.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Well, I’m just gonna say I see myself doing something great in 5 years.
The most important thing in life is?
Oh, to enjoy it.
