First of all, tell us a lil bit about you!
I am a self-thought photographer and a very curious person that tries to be some spontaneous. As much as I can I try to not copy myself in the sessions. Although there is always elements that say it is my work in the photos whether it is the model, the retouch, the motive or the styling. I kind of like to push my own boundaries and I love to work with models and make up artists that feel the same.
So you are always working with the same team?
Not really, but I kind of try to keep a core set of people that I really enjoy being around and also are good on what they do.
Photography means to you?
For me photography is a way to express myself and be creative. Let the energy flow freely and just have fun.
Where comes your big love for shooting Girls?
Oh. That is a good question. I think it might be that I can’t find anything more astonishing than the female figure. When I have a session I always think of making the model look strong and confident. I really dislike that a lot of what you see in todays fashion magazines makes the models look like victims. But if that is the reason I tend to mostly work with female model I am not sure.
What equipment do you use?
I mostly use my Canon 1Ds II with a fixed 50mm lens. For light I switch between natural light, a Canon 550ex flash or a studio flash.
What makes a perfect picture for you?
A perfect picture for me is a picture that your eyes don´t get tired of.
So is there a favorite picture of your own work which you never get tired of yourself?
Of course I have some of my own “darlings”. Do have some of my own photos enlarged and framed on a wall at home. I think all photographers have that.
You also have some travel-images on your site. Which place did you enjoy most?
Of course I enjoy the fashion sessions most. Love the energy and the creativity that usually are key elements in a session. The landscape photos are just something that have happened. If you asked me this question a couple of years ago I would have said that I dislike landscape images as much as I do with cats and sunsets. But I guess it was my time in New Zealand that really changed my mind regarding landscapes. But as far as I see it as long as I don’t do postcard styled image I am fine with it.
Your favorite Swedish national- dish?
Here I must say the classic (?) Swedish meatballs. :)
What inspires and motivates you?
I get inspiration from all kind of different things. Other photographers, movies, walks out in the nature or just closing my eyes and let my mind wonder freely.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hard question. In five years I would probably have left the life of living in a city and have moved out on the country side with my family. Regarding photography I hope I have at least published 2-3 books. I am currently doing my first one which I hope will be finished this fall.
