Machester based artist Holy Other recently revealed two tracks from his upcoming debut LP called Held. And all I can say about it … it’s huge!
I have quite fresh memories from his gig at last year’s Unsound festival in Krakow. It was quite a moving gig. With his hidden face underneath a hood, no lights and just slow, deep and emotional music. Who says that slow music is boring?! Holy Other is really good at what he is doing.
Now the proud Tri Angle member comes with his debut which will see the light of the world in August. So far, tracks Love Some1 and Held were revealed as a teaser on Tri Angle’s Soundcloud page (you can listen to them below).
And what does Holy Other say about style of creating his music?
“Oh, definitely emotionally. Like, I’m not really trying to create something original. How should I put this? Well, I’m not noticing a gap in contemporary music and saying “there’s the space I want to occupy”. It’s no hyper-pragmatic approach to creating the sound, and I don’t feel like I’m making some huge artistic contribution. It’s more the challenge of simply trying to create something truly personal.”

(I will definitely catch him in Prague with Beach house… yeah)
