I <3 electru is one of the German blogs that you should really know. Berlin based Thang Dai, who is behind this project writes about everything he likes… and yeah-us too!  You can find “sex for your ears”, “Fashion ‘n’ Style” and  beautiful selected “eye candies” from all over the world. It is certainly worth to check out his site and be inspired…

Describe yourself with 3 words…

bon vivant, moody and sometimes ordinary. (oh, more than three)

I <3 electru is a blog about popculture, photography, fashion, sex and lovely music. I usually ask the question to people : what are the 5 things that they cannot live without. Would it be those things for you?

A very good and tough question. I can’t live without: [ placeholder ]

How do you choose the content for your site?

Browsing through my feed reader, taking time for reader suggestions, looking for some new stuff in my favorite flickr groups, tumblr around or searching on my favorite sources like “if you leave”.

What fascinates and excites you the most about blogging?

The contact with other bloggers, but especially with artists, photographer, filmer or talented new musicians – and also to agencies, who are desperately trying to place their clients on my blog for free. The same shit as every day.

Do you also have any critical view about the whole blogging scene?

I really don’t like the not linking culture in the blogosphere and not mentioning of the original sources. also the lame double postings on plattforms like DYT, just for some sucking blog rankings.

And how do you deal with critics from your readers?

Which critical comments? I ignore and delete them all. ;-) just a joke. Most of the critics are posted under sponsored posts, that’s sad but I try to handle it by explaining my point of view on advertorials.

How much of the “real Thang Dai” is on I <3 electru?

One fuckin’ hundred percent.

One thing that really catched my attention on your site is that you also show your own images from events and places you have been to and that were taken with an analogue camera. I find that pretty cool especially in a time where no one seems to have time for anything anymore – and much less to be waiting for developing images. Of course now there are a lot of people especially in the arts field going back to the analogue way. How come you still photograph a lot analogue also for private pleasure?

It’s a passion. A real love. I’m just doing it the good old-fashioned way, because of the fascinating and mostly surprising results with different cameras and different films. It feels a little bit like puzzling by tryal and error. Furthermore I love the quiet noise in analogue portraits.

What inspires you for your work and for your life?

All the people, who inspire me. It could be everyone.

At the moment you divide your life between Berlin and Wiesbaden. Berlin is so hyped at the moment. Quite rightly in your opinion? And why?

Yes, for me in person it is. The multicultural society with its various types of people, the very different hoods, crazy arty farty exhibitions, exploding music scene with his concerts, tons of bars, clubs and open airs, varying food possibilities for all tastes – all of these aspects are making Berlin worth living.

In 5 years you want to…

…settle down in life and stop acting like a fool in some situations.

The essence of life is…

…is to live, find inner peace and realize the own dreams.
