Just to listen to those first words gave us goosebumbs. And the music that follows is likewise deep and beautiful. Matthias Hauck, Nepomuk Heller und Florian Kiermaier and Josie-Claire Bürkle are Claire - their music a mix of synthpop, electronic-pop, halftime beats, Hip Hop and Indie. In our interview they told us a little more about themselves, their future and their unrestrained will to realize their project…

Hi Claire, thanks a lot for your time. How are you all and what are you currently up to?

Hi C-Heads Magazine! First of all, we’d like to thank you for supporting us! We’re doing pretty great, we just arrived back home from our short trip to the Berlin music week. Right now, we’re practicing a lot for our EP-release Show in October plus working on new tracks.

Let´s start with your fresh and great music video for your debut single ‘Pioneers’. Are you happy as well with the final result?

We wouldn’t really call it a music video, it’s rather a fashion-shortfilm from our mates in wildeyes. We loved the idea, so we got involved and decided to pool our strengths, to realize this project. They’re still working on it, but what we’ve seen so far looks amazing!!

The track itself is a strong electro-pop song – what are your personal associations with this single?

In fact, the bottom line of the song ‘pioneers’ is, what gives us the appeal and the drive to do this whole project. It’s about a vision, an idea, the unrestrained will to realize it and the confidence you achieve as a result.

In general a video is not really necessary in order to bring out the vibe of a good song. But the video Collaboration with “Wildeyes” is so artistic and just suits the song in a perfect way. How was the work on the concept behind it?

You’re right, you don’t necessarily need a video, to understand what a song wants to express. But with the right idea, you can help the audience to realize what you’re trying to say. Working with the Wildeyes guys was great, because it was really interesting to hear their views and interpretations of this song and combine them with ours. We’re not that much into the whole fashion thing, but we thought let’s try it and so far its worked out perfectly !

Describe each other with a few words.

Uff, this one’s tough… We’re all completely different characters, but at the same time bloody similar. Josie is the person, who, with her stoic positivity, always keeps our moods cheerful. She’s also able to fall asleep within a minute – in every imaginable situation. Messel is the one, who keeps this whole thing together. He managed to get this chaotic crew productive and – not to forget – he’s able to tell you every existing fact about beer. Nepo is seriously addicted to coffee, the world’s greatest perfectionist and the one with the genius ideas. Flo is the always positive guy, a exceptionally gifted Songwriter and Instrumentalist and the G.O.D. of FIFA.

What or who inspires you?

There are many kinds of inspiration that shape our music. Of course there are many bands, who inspire us. However, it’s quite impossible to name any particular one, because we all listen to such different music. Without doubts though, the biggest inspiration is what is happening directly in our social environment.
