„Sun Glitters sound is an ocean of lush melodies, pitch-shifted vocal samples, ghostly digi-diva choirs, warm bass melodies driven by alternately dense and relaxing beatwork combinations between downtempo and wonky beats.“ Nuff said. Go and get him. Friday the 5th at Waves Festival Vienna. We highly recommend!
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Sun Glitters was born in March 2011 in Luxembourg but I’ve been producing electronic music for over 13 years.
During this time, I’ve also played bass in a number of rock bands in Luxembourg before electronic sounds invaded my brain!
What’s the story behind your artist name?
There’s no real story behind the name Sun Glitters, I was thinking about a name and after a long and difficult decision making process, I fell in love with Sun Glitters. I really like it and think it’s suitable to the music I create.
Who do you consider an influence on your music?
Without hesitation My Bloody Valentine among lots of others of course!
Name 2 things that make up the Sun Glitters-sound!
Amusingly, I would say my car keys, which you can hear in all the tracks. It’s a sound that is not always obvious, but can be heard when the track is clean and not too busy. And the “shitty” bass, a name someone gave an element of my work a long time ago when they wrote a feature about Sun Glitters.
What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given to you?
To be myself!
What are you listening to at the moment?
Lots of things, if I named them all, it would be a huge list. To get a good idea of what I’m listening to, head to my soundcloud and listen to my Mixtapes! That said, I tend to listen to 2 or 3 tracks daily by My Bloody Valentine, it’s like my cup of coffee that I need in the morning when I wake up I’m constantly listening to my new demos for my next album and remixes that are still a work in process…
