It’s funny how we all start as strangers
To go from hearing you introduce yourself for the first time to sleepless nights flash by just planning our future. It’s so hard to be away from you, we’re halfway there until I’m in your arms but it still seems like eternity. Here we are imagining life together, you on the bed next to me right now, your fingertips running along my side as we are lit by the lamp next to me, your soft murmurs transcend into the air echoing down the corridor. I imagine us in the shower, glancing at each other as the water streams down our faces, the warm kind of water that melts you as I brush my lips on yours. How timezones fuck us all up, how we try so hard to catch ourselves up at the same time. But it leaves us to savour every moment, happy just knowing that we are awake at the same time. How bittersweet it is when I imagine you’re here at the very opposite side of the earth and knowing that you probably can’t visit me here–the thing that fucks you up most is your own imagination, broken dreams, broken hearts. When we constantly reminisce the times we had together until it circulates in our bloodstream, waiting for new memories to fill it.
