“Elena opened me the door at 7 a.m. in the morning, with glitter all over her face and sleepy eyes. I said to myself “okay, this might not work” because we both haven’t slept all night. I usually hate mornings but that light was so nice it made me wonder why I don’t wake up earlier more often. One of Elena’s friends was nice enough to let us use his home to shoot, and it was exactly what I had in mind for these photos. So this happened. Just like that. The poem Razvan (Sartrowski) wrote is about her. And that was how we felt that morning, like we lived a fucking poem.” Alex Matei.
