Isabell de Hillerin “Eclectic Line”

Isabell de Hillerin “Eclectic Line”

While travelling to remote villages in Moldavia the Munich born but Berlin based designer Isabell de Hillerin found inspiration for her latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection ‘Eclectic Line’. Ellaborate embroideries and hand-woven fabrics that woman from over there still create for themselves like hundreds of years ago – with love and lots of [...]

Interview with David Longshaw

“Fashion is a creative approach to design – that’s what takes it away from just being clothes- it’s a process of design and styling.” tells us David Longshaw, an aspiring UK fashion designer. His latest latest SS13 collection made a lasting impression on us as he manages to combine a certain playfulness, [...]

QASIMI “DYSTOPIA” menswear Spring/summer 2013

QASIMI “DYSTOPIA” menswear Spring/summer 2013

The essence of this collection is rooted in street culture as well as the phenomenon of urban gang warfare. QASIMI renegotiates iconic pieces from sportwear as well as urban street wear as to portray the crossover between street and their attendant connotative messages. The process of recontextualisation is specifically manifested in the way in which raw elements of urban culture are repositioned against luxury surroundings. In short, this collection engages with the notion of urban gentrification and its significance in the contemporary moments. A very pleasant and meaningful collection.

Paul Smith

Paul Smith looks ahead to summer with a collection that brings a spark to the senses by celebrating modern masculine elegance, bold colour and sharp, refined tailoring.  Paul Smith’s punchy spring/summer 2013 menswear collection was for sure like a breath of fresh air. The collection was in my top 3 of all that was presented for menswear this season.

Rick Owens

Rick Owens

This is not the first Rick Owens show that I have attended, and I am always surprised by how the designer refines its silhouettes. As he says himself: “I try to make clothes like Lou Reed makes music with chord changes and minimal direct. It is mild but terrifying. This is [...]

Boris Bidjan Saberi

Boris Bidjan Saberi

Boris Bidjan Saberi, a fashion creator half Persian half German, launched his first line in 2008. Sharp and modern, his work focuses primarily on functionality and expresses a very strong feeling of freedom and innovation. His roots, his enthusiasm for the “street culture” and casual wear but also references the post gothic lead to develop a very interesting collection. I really liked this collection because of its very refined athletic side and the geometry and I literally melted away to the shoes shown during the show.

All [...]

Christian Lacroix

Christian Lacroix

Christian Lacroix‘s latest collection indeed was quite refreshing with bold abstract floral and checkered graphic prints. A colorful collection of blue, yellow, softened by the beige or black. Also, I liked this form of t-shirt with sleeves rolled up and slightly over sized on the top. Definitely an invitation to [...]
