Rick Owens

Fashion

This is not the first Rick Owens show that I have attended, and I am always surprised by how the designer refines its silhouettes. As he says himself: “I try to make clothes like Lou Reed makes music with chord changes and minimal direct. It is mild but terrifying. This is to give all the wear and feeling soft. This is an elegance tinged with barbarism, letting go of something dragging and the luxury of not worrying.” In this collection we can find tooled leather and nylon. Nylon in large volume style is all over this spring / summer collection to give men a sporty side, or rather to show a clear and cool side. Finally, I loved the clean graphic patterns. And that´s not all, –  for his show at Espace Marcel Cerdan in Paris Bercy Palais Omnisports, Rick Owens choose a setting of light rain and music by his impressive wife and muse: Michele Lamy. We love Rick Owens, and seeing his show left me with a great feeling! You can see a video of the show here.

Christian Lacroix

Fashion

Christian Lacroix‘s latest collection indeed was quite refreshing with bold abstract floral and checkered graphic prints. A colorful collection of blue, yellow, softened by the beige or black. Also, I liked this form of t-shirt with sleeves rolled up and slightly over sized on the top. Definitely an invitation to the open air beachs.
