“In my inspiration process, I work in different ways: Sometimes I start from a face and build a character around it, find the right place, the style,… Sometimes I work the other way around: I take inspiration from a place that creates a character and try to find the perfect profile for it.” tells us French photographer Agathe Karsenti about her newest set with Chiara Janssen of See Models. A poetic, soft series, full of mellow colors and dreamy moments.
“With Chiara, I had the idea of shooting in my grandmother’s apartment, almost at the same time that I saw Chiara’s profile, and immediately thought that it would fit perfectly with an idea I’d had in the back of my mind for a while: this poetic character who spends time at home, alone, enjoying her own company, in a very soft atmosphere. Her magnetic eyes and gentle energy in the intimacy of this apartment worked perfectly and the result was very close to my vision.
It’s that kind of moment when everything clicks and feels right that I look for in photography, because the result is always very special.”
