“An artist has to have a little bit of conflict with himself at some level, in order to find a way to be better every day. If you don’t aspire to do better, you won’t be successful with your art.”

Model at Francina Models, designer and DJ Claudia Albons doesn´t like to label herself and believes in hard work and versatility. Which are certainly one of those important ingredients when you want to achieve something. We had a chat with the focused Mallorcan born beauty, that confidently posed in front of the lense of photographer Jordi Pelegrí for C-Heads. The make-up was done by Sara Ferraro and Claudia wears clothes from Brandy Mellvile, Levi’s vintage, Calvin Klein, American Apparel, H&M, Rose Marin and Maje.

Claudia, you are involved in different areas of art such as fashion and music – what does art mean for you, what makes an artist?

In my opinion, art is to test out your creativity to create something beautiful, something that speaks about you in some way, and causes a sensation in the viewer. An artist has to have a little bit of conflict with himself at some level, in order to find a way to be better every day. If you don’t aspire to do better, you won’t be successful with your art. No matter what you do: painting, designing, singing… the good artist has to leave his mark to be unforgettable.

And how hard is it nowadays to really stand out with the things we do or to select what´s really good? I mean we are over flooded by talents and inspirational things from the internet…

Yeah, it’s really difficult. There are a lot of talented people out there, but I think the secret is that everyone has to be as authentic as they can be. Don’t copy, don’t hide your true personality… you know what they say: it’s better to be hated for who you are that to be loved for what you are not.

You are named as being one of the first bloggers in Spain. Are you still as passionate about it as when you started? I feel that it has gotten a lot quieter now around the blogging trend, what do you think?

A few years ago the blogger phenomenon was booming and became “the new it profession”. Managing a blog requires considerable time and dedication and I won’t deny that I love blogging, but I’m also very dedicated to other aspects of my life, as my facet as a DJ, my work as a model and designing my own jewelry line . I’ve always seen my blog as a great tool to show the world what I like, but lately there’s so many blogs in the Internet. We must find other ways to express ourselves in order to build our own personal brand. I love working on projects and new ideas that are not directly linked to my fashion blog. I don’t want to label myself! I believe in hard work and versatility.

You were born in Mallorca, how lucky to be brought up by the seaside. Tell us one of your fondest childhood memories…

My family and I used to go out on a small boat every weekend to spend the day in the best beaches of Mallorca. My father and I went diving in the caves to investigate and see the shells, the octopuses, the starfishes… Formentera also brings back many good memories. I’ve spent every summer there since I was 10 years old and it’s one of my favorite places in the world. I’m such an island girl!

You model as well and are starring in this rad series for C-Heads by the photographer Jordi Pelegri. You radiate to be a confident young woman. What´s the thing you like most about yourself and what things would you like to change? I am not just talking about physical things…

Thanks! I consider myself quite self confident and that’s fine when you work in the fashion industry, you gotta have your head over your shoulders, you know what I mean? I really like my determination and ambition towards life. I’m very independent but a little bit impatient… I can’t help it! I’ve always been!

The thing that made you most happy in 2014?

I’ve adopted my cat, Blondie, which appears in this editorial. She was living on the street and now she’s the queen of my castle! She makes me very happy, she’s the sweetest cat ever.

Hello from Berlin! I love freedom, travelling, long train rides, Stefan Zweig books, cats, colours, writing postcards, music, and movies à la Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. What makes me really happy is the seaside, sunrises and sunsets and having lots of time!
