Finally, the summer stories are back with us. Photographer Joseph Umbro teamed up with sweet model Miki Hamino strolling around the port. Hair and makeup done by Josie Mapenas.
“Miki is one of my favorite models to work with because of her uniqueness. With Miki there’s only one, because nobody else looks like her around here. She has such an energetic personality and expressive look that basically anything you shoot is going to be good. So on this particular shoot I knew I had a strong location with a wonderful color pallete here at the marina and a good team to work with. I knew I had a couple of ways I could go with the creative, I could work out a very precise direction of things I wanted to accomplish, taking full advantage of the location and styling. But I knew I’d be better off taking a loose approach to the shoot, just having a general idea of what looks I want to see, and then let Miki do what she does best and “ad lib” everything and photograph her being herself. Nothing was really planned here other than the beautiful location in Belmont Shore, Miki made all this happen with her magic.”
