“‘Look Look At You’ ” is the first single out of ‘My Kind Of Blonde’, the new album by British musician, photographer and filmmaker Jacob Perlmutter & Brazilian music producer Diogo Strausz. While the retro vibe sound softly touches our melancholical hearts, the lovely black and white video takes us on a photographic journey through different places, people and moments of lived life.
Directed by Jacob Perlmutter himself, he explains about the video:” “It’s a compilation of images I’ve photographed over the years, but that never saw the light of day”, he says. “Fragments that are personal, or once were, recycled to create the familiar sense of memory. I wanted to echo the song’s ideas of the conveyer belt of imagery we ingest via our screens. What do they look like and how do they make us feel? So it was about choosing images that everyone could relate to. Pictures we’d all recognise as something we might have taken ourselves.” In ‘Look Look At You’ he sings about a man observing fragments of his ex-lover’s travels via photos on social media and explores our fear about when we share our intimate moments with the world. The album was recorded in Brazil and is due to be released in 2017. We can´t wait!
