The 20 years young Berlin based photographer Anna Motschmann recently did a trip to California. “I couldn’t stop myself capturing all the beauty this place offers and with this series I want to show California through my eyes, which means showing it in a kind of childish and magical way with a touch of vintage. That’s how I always imagined it to be so I wanted to keep this spirit alive.”

1
I always get obsessed with birds as soon as I’m traveling. I guess because I feel kind of a connection to them or more to the feeling of freedom that birds seem to have as soon as they spread their wings.

2
Besides birds I fall in love with palm trees over and over again. Every damn time. Just look at one
and you feel all the good vibes.

3
We walked along the Hollywood walk of fame and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. These photographs that in my eyes, are so typical for this place. L.A. is one colorful happy magical world with a touch of vintage everywhere. ( & a lot of MC Donalds restaurants haha)

These holidays have been the first ones where I really felt a jet lag but instead of getting annoyed by it, we used it to create one of my favorite moments in these two weeks. We naturally woke up at 3am and at 5 we were in the car, on our way to Santa Monica. Right when the sun came up we walked along the pier and it was shining at us through the roller coasters. So magical. It really makes you feel like a child again.

The first morning, when we were driving to Santa Monica and the sky turned from dark blue to kind of purple and pink, my brother said something that summed up the whole situation: ‚THIS IS SO TUMBLR!‘ He was so right.

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
