I had just landed in LA after a long flight and headed straight to the studio. In the lobby a movie from the 80’s was playing. There was a giant briefcase filled with money on the screen. I made an off-hand comment; something like “Let’s get one of those!”. That led to us imagining we were kingpins living like it was still the 80’s with excess everywhere. All of our songs begin with us talking. I think conversation is they key; it’s all natural from there.
