California newcomer Satica enchants with her angelic warm voice, poetic lyrics and melodious beats. She just dropped her first solo single “Honey Whiskey” produced by her Moving Castle´s label mate AOBeats.

“Honey Whiskey” is about?

“Honey Whiskey” is about fresh young love. I wanted to describe the feeling you get when you first meet someone that you are romantically interested in and somehow influences you to do crazy and bold things that you wouldn’t normally do. It is a very intoxicating feeling that I thought would be amazing to capture lyrically and sonically.

“Music specifically has helped me cope in so many ways and is so ingrained in who I am that without it, I would lose the majority of my identity.”

What influences your music the most?

What I think influences my music the most is my surroundings. My surroundings, my experiences as well as other people’s, help me create these stories and scenarios in my head that help me write. I try to put myself in different situations and try my best to gauge what that might feel like and then become inspired that way. I always try to have my ears and eyes open because even the smallest detail can inspire a song or melody.

What does music and art personally mean to you?

It means everything to me. Self expression is so important, not only for the artist, but for the consumer as well. I feel like everybody receives art differently and it is what every person decides to draw from their experiences that makes it valuable. To me, art is feeling. Emotion is such an important human characteristic that is fostered in so many different ways. All forms of art captures that for me in a way that is very difficult to explain. Music specifically has helped me cope in so many ways and is so ingrained in who I am that without it, I would lose the majority of my identity.

Where can we find you on a Friday night?

If I’m being 100% honest, probably super baked, eating an ice cream cone on my bed, watching cartoons.

Besides music, what makes you feel good?

This is a great question. I would definitely say being surrounded by my friends. I could be cranky as all hell and they would still find a way to make me crack up.

What will our generation be remembered for?

Our generation will be remembered for our progressive values. It’s so fucking awesome seeing everybody being vocal and active about social justice issues/human rights issues. There are so many things going on in the world and I’m glad our generation is making it a point to speak out and try to make a difference.

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
