SŸDE – Australian teenagers Mitch Stephens and Will Hyde – is a production duo out of Melbourne. After clearing 10 Million on their debut single “Orbit,” the youngsters recently struck a deal with Universal Australia’s Dew Process and have big things on the horizon. Today C-Heads brings you a first listen of their follow-up single, “Above The Clouds.” A comfortable blend of indie folk and electronic pop, it’s got a windows-down, late evening sunshine kind of vibe to it. Complete with a beautiful top-line vocal performance from New York’s Olivia Reid, it’s a gleaming second single, and with warmer days around the corner for the Aussies – it just might be the song of the summer down under.

SŸDE on “Above The Clouds”:
“When we were writing the record, we just wanted to produce something which wasn’t too structured and had an easy going vibe, something that makes you smile when you’re listening. We went through a lot of records on YouTube and came across a heavy, future bass track with Olivia on vocals. Despite it being a different genre, we felt her tone would work on a completely different style, ours being acoustic electronic. Not everyone understands our vision for the record, but after getting a really solid demo, we knew she was meant to be.”
Olivia Reid on “Above The Clouds”:
“I think a lot of times uncertainty about the future starts to weigh heavily on our shoulders, and we so often start to overthink things. ‘Above the Clouds’ is about letting go of that fear, and embracing uncertainty from a positive perspective. My hope when writing the lyrics was that this song would connect with people as a way of viewing uncertainty as a beautiful kind of freedom… a place above the clouds that you can be yourself and just go for it.”
