Watch you sleep covers the listener with a soft and romantic sound and shows a new side of Norwegian singer and songwriter girl in red who in other songs embodies a lot of youthful easiness.

“I wrote watch you sleep in one sitting at 2 am. In my head I had this short film playing in my head of a memory I have. I just wrote what I saw and felt. It was really weird and overwhelming. I literally cried while making this cause it made me so emotional. The song is really different from everything that’s out so far. This song shows a completely different side of me. That´s exciting and scary.” We chatted to the young artist about the sentimental meaning behind her stage name, singing in English instead of Norwegian and what our generation will be remembered for.

You write and produce in your room. Who is the first person that you usually show a ready song to get feedback?

Yep, I do! My mom is usually always the first person to listen to my new songs. She`s always 100% honest.

You used to write your songs in Norwegian but switched back to English. How come?

I think I just grew away from it. I suddenly just started getting ideas in English instead of Norwegian.

You really bring across a lot of energy when you are on stage. How do you feel when you are up there?

I feel so fucking good! It´s such a weird feeling and I cant really compare it to anything. I just love being on stage.

“I really admire people who have a passion for something and work hard to achieve their dreams.”

Why did you name yourself girl in red?

Because I was at a festival looking for my best friend (that I was super in love with) in the crowd, and when I saw her she was wearing a red sweater. So I texted her «girl in red».  It just has a lot of sentimental meaning.

What is your strongest skill?

I am pretty good at fingerboarding.

What do you admire in other people?

I really admire people who have a passion for something and work hard to achieve their dreams.

Music you currently listen to yourself?

I ´ve had say it by Maggie Rogers on replay. Its so good.  Also I´m found this band called Lunar Vacation, their song Blue Honey is such a vibe!

“I did some math, and if I keep spending so much time on my phone as I do, I`d spend 12 years of my life in total on my phone. That shit creeps me out.”

Where can we usually find you on a Saturday night?

Drinking beer with friends or making music at home.

Do you worry about spending too much time with social networks?

Yes. All time. I did some math, and if I keep spending so much time on my phone as I do, I`d spend 12 years of my life in total on my phone. That shit creeps me out.

Our generation will be remembered for…
