“The biggest challenge?
Putting our three brains together”

Formed in Nashville COIN were started by students at Belmont University in 2012. The trio consists of Chase Lawrence (vocals/synths), Joe Memmel (guitar/vocals), and Ryan Winnen (drums) signed with Columbia that fall. Working with producer and co-writer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Cage the Elephant), they released their self-titled debut in 2015. Behind the single “Run,” it landed on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. The band released their hit single “Talk Too Much” soon after. In 2017 they COIN released their second album “How Will You Know If You Never Try.” Since then they have toured with The 1975 and Young The Giant. Enjoy our sidewalk talk!
