It’s important to stay in touch with your wild side.

More Giraffes are here to help you do just that. After emerging with a series of jubilant tracks in 2018, the party pop duo is back with their own beach-friendly anthem, “Surf”. Comprised of songwriting aficionados Keeley Baumford and Mark Hadley, the two are teasing their forthcoming EP, “Bermuda”, which is due out sometime this summer. On top of all the fun, the group will be making their highly anticipated LA debut on August 21st at the Hi-Hat as part of the acclaimed and free to attend We Found New Music new music showcase series.

“We love imagining characters and creating vignettes in our songs, so we wrote the verses about someone leaving the material world behind to live their best life oceanside, chilling with dolphins and drinking negronis with turtles. More than anything it’s about self love.”

Surf is the More Giraffes version of a summer anthem. We started this song with the chorus, which was so simple and perfect to us. We love imagining characters and creating vignettes in our songs, so we wrote the verses about someone leaving the material world behind to live their best life oceanside, chilling with dolphins and drinking negronis with turtles. More than anything it’s about self love. Let’s go surf!

What inspires you outside of the studio?
We love the outdoors and try to connect with nature as much as possible. We both love hiking and camping, and living in Los Angeles is perfect for an outdoor lifestyle between all the hiking, the ocean and the perfect weather.

You have several different lyrics about our use of technology or social media in a way, how does your music comment on the digital age we live in?
All the noise of social and political commentary is turned up to maximum volume right now on the internet, and ultimately it can leave us feeling depleted and depressed. So we try to use our songs to inspire people to be present in life and not be afraid of leaving the phone behind for a few hours to enjoy an adventure outside.

What is More Giraffes’ mission?
Our mission is to make people feel good. To make everyone feel empowered, included, confident and eager to share good vibes with anyone who needs them.

What do you want your listeners to know about you they wouldn’t already?
Between the two of us, we’ve seen The Matrix over 200 times. Also, Keeley has never seen The Matrix.
