From the very first sounds, the new single Breaking & Healing by Swedish-Iranian singer and songwriter Ayelle has me under its spell. It’s probably exactly the song I need right now for the circumstances I am in, and it gives me the strength I was hoping for. And isn’t that exactly what music has to try to do sometimes?

It’s not always easy to accept that things need their time. And it’s often so incredibly hard to embrace things, to honestly accept and conclude an inner conflict with yourself. In a psycholgical sense, it is probably the so-called frustration tolerance that makes one defiant, incomprehensible because of the many overhelming feelings that do not let one come to the usual calm.

The clean and almost delicate voice of Ayelle blends with the soft, reduced melodies. And so ‘Breaking & Healing’ is incredibly pleasant and soothing and gives a sense of hope. Talking about the song, she says: “I wrote ‘Breaking & Healing’ as I was coming to terms with the concept that healing isn’t linear. I was getting frustrated with myself because it felt as if I was always taking one step forward and two steps back. This song became a space for me to channel that frustration into acceptance, and it was the start of a journey towards more self-compassion. Some wounds will resurface and require healing over and over again, and it’s impossible to bubble wrap yourself against further pain. I’d rather lean into it and experience everything fully.”

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
