Savannah Conley is doing the best she can.

And with the release of her new EP, the aptly-titled Best I Can, it appears to be working. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter has tapped into a side of her folk-rock roots, that is both modern and timeless, ethereal and grounded. Perhaps its best displayed on the single “Always Gonna Happen”, an all-too-relatable ode to the banality of human existence, and the ironic beauty that sometimes follows. Combining traditional folk elements with buoyant synthesizers, punchy drums, and masterful storytelling, Best I Can showcases an artist made of now for now, hitting her stride, and laying the step stones for an even more grandiose next chapter.

“When you figure out the world isn’t what you thought it was, it makes you question a lot. “Always Gonna Happen” plays into that; it’s about trusting my instincts to get away from situations and people to move forward in life.”

“There was a moment when I realized that this is the first time in my life where things have actually happened to me. My co-writer and I looked at each other and talked about the shit that has happened that we haven’t even talked about before. When you figure out the world isn’t what you thought it was, it makes you question a lot. “Always Gonna Happen” plays into that; it’s about trusting my instincts to get away from situations and people to move forward in life.”
