Lissy Taylor revels in single girl summer on ‘Your Girl’

Fresh off a main stage performance at Derbyshire’s Y Not Festival alongside British legends like Noel Gallagher and The Vaccines, Lissy Taylor’s summer is nothing if not busy. With a slew of high profile gigs in the rearview and another in the field, the Stoke-on-Trent native’s also got her hands full with “Your Girl,” a punchy alt-rock ode to being single.

“I wrote it after a breakup thinking yes, I could be your girl, but I can be anything,” she says of the record. “I really wanted to capture the confidence and empowerment in being single.”

Armed with her signature blonde Telecaster – and blonder hair – the northerner has quickly made her mark on her native UK with an electric live show and towering rock tracks. But it’s hard to imagine she has intentions of stopping there.
