We drank cold apple juice and warm milk in the sun, as if we were children and adults at once—too aware of the moment, and yet already nostalgic for it. A plate of Kaiserschmarrn arrived at the table, still steaming, dusted in powdered sugar like the mountaintops above us. We dipped each bite into warm apple compote and tart berry jam, letting the sweetness linger like a half-remembered dream.
And she, the girl in black, stood by the lake as though she had just stepped out of a dream and into the soft morning of her own solitude. Behind her, the Zillertal opened like a storybook—peaks still carrying traces of snow, meadows humming in yellow and green, the slow choreography of cows in the distance.
It was the kind of day that didn’t ask for meaning. A day that simply allowed you to be. No noise, no rush, just the quiet unfolding of life in its gentlest form.
