As the year draws to a close, no matter how one feels about it, it becomes a natural moment for reflection — and perhaps for setting new intentions. Every year, I choose a personal theme: something to learn, something to give my time and attention to more consciously.
What that focus will be this time, I’m not entirely sure yet. But when I look at the new series of Atlanta of Select Models Los Angeles, photographed by Jase Patrick, I find myself briefly losing track of time. Shot together in Bali, the two created these beautiful images alongside a few Polaroids — fragments captured in earthy, warm tones, carrying an incredible sense of calm and presence.
Perhaps that’s exactly the lesson waiting here: learning to be more in the moment, to breathe in, breathe out, and allow things to simply be. Enjoy.
Jase Patrick contributes a wonderful series to our newly released Volume 39 – which is a love letter to the simple joys, the human warmth, the in-between moments that often go unnoticed.
