We like to believe that knowing someone by heart means knowing them completely. In a secluded house in Cilento, suspended between pine trees and the endless blue of the sea, photographer Benedetta Norelli caught herself watching her younger sister Caterina not through the blurred lens of childhood, but with the sudden, sharp clarity of an outsider.

“These photos mean a lot to me as they symbolize the breaking through a self-imposed limit: the fear of not being enough. My passion for photography accidentally led me to the other side of the lens as a model, and from that moment on I set aside my desire to capture images, stifled by a feeling of insecurity.”
