Jan Kwan

Let’s meet Sharon, a muse who loves drawing and painting, working with acrylics, brush pens and sometimes even crystals on canvas. She loves moments by the sea and spending time with friends. Together with photographer Jan Kwan, she headed to a boathouse and a nearby beach in Hong Kong earlier this month. Between the sand, the heat and the little details of an ordinary beach day, they created a series full of personality, playfulness and that unmistakable feeling of a spontaneous summer day.

Brought together by the whims of time and serendipity, our duo set to work with a shooting planned merely 48 hours ahead of a scheduled flight to Bangkok. Despite the spontaneity, the intent was crystal clear – to create something that transcends the ordinary, something beautiful and awe-inspiring in the midst of a resort-like haven.

Hong Kong based Photographer Jan Kwan teamed up with Brazilian model Julia Louise. “Julia and I have met in a while already and we have always wanted to do a photoshoot, which is simple, natural and raw.”

“Yana and I wanted to shoot ever since we have been connected on instagram. Despite the time we had ahead of the shooting, we didn´t plan anything except that we agreed on “making a nice home series”. Her creativity and open-mindedness – apart from modelling she is also a photographer – have facilitated the shoot.”
