But I Love, Love – Mixtape by Still in Rock x C-Heads Magazine

Mixtapes with a love theme are probably those that have been made most often. After all, it is surely the very reason for which mixtapes exist, to gather our favorite songs on a good old tape and to give it to the loved one for him or her to listen to once at home, stars in eyes.

Needless to say, love is a feeling that everyone lives differently. Yet, it has its constancy, the few common features that we all know about. I wanted to capture that universal feeling and leave everyone the opportunity to associate their own passions to a personal music that inspires us all.

I then started by sorting all of the songs that evoke the theme. The introduction had to be happy, a real bliss that reflects the first moments of a relationship. Then, I had to come up with darker creations, where doubt takes part in the dance. I wanted to embody the complexity of this feeling, which contributes to its beauty, and for this, I had to bring bedroom pop and other subversive and psychedelic music. But I also wished to finish on a positive note, the reason why I used some power pop, the style of music that I believe has best embodied the feeling of love. There’s no coincidence that all of the legends of the genre dedicated their best tunes to it, and I couldn’t imagine this mixtape without including some Milk’N’Cookies and Ramones. Once everything was done, all that remained was for me to mix everything and submit it to you.

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
