“Sometimes I feel that in order to make something really honest, you have to almost be embarrassed for the people you know to hear it, and that’s how I felt about ‘Gone.’ It’s definitely a personal song, but I hope that people can relate to it.”

Oakland-based Day Wave, a.k.a. Jackson Phillips, is going to release his second EP Hard To Read on March 4th via Grand Jury.  Hard To Read was performed, produced, mixed and mastered by Day Wave directly to tape, and the result is a gorgeous 5-track EP bursting with California sunshine. “Gone” is the first single out of it and a great listening sample of what else can be eagerly anticipated. A soothing sound that comes with a strong sense of lightness and makes you feel like floating on water and watching the clear-blue skye.
