We had a quick Q&A session with model Makaela Heard whereas Austin, Texas based photographer Edgar Valdes yields images of her to dwell upon. 

How do you feel when you see yourself in pictures as a model?

It surprises me every time. To be able to see myself in different settings, moods, and styles awes me. I feel unique and beautiful.

How important is fashion for you?

Pretty important. I love keeping up with the latest fashion trends, and express them in my own way.

What´s the best thing about being a girl/ women?

The best thing about being a woman is knowing how empowered I am. In the U.S. and many other societies around the world, women are seen as inferior and wrongfully stereotyped. It makes being a woman unique, to know how strong and beautiful we are.

Who or what has inspired you the most recently?

God. I’ve come so far, anything is possible.
