Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better. Albert Einstein

Montreal based photographer Michael Jacques, alias Mikozoski is back with another truly breathtaking artistic project called “We used to be strangers” starring fascinating Julia. An intimate insight on the evolution of two persons in love. “I am from Montreal city, and she is from Quebec city, the two cities with the biggest french community of Canada, 2.45h car distance from each other.”

“I’ve been working on this project during the last three months, it’s the following of the intimate growing between Julia (the model) and me (the photographer) starting from our first meet and going through the beginning of our relation. These photographs show in a really interesting way the evolution of two persons in love with the work of the other (reason why we met) and later simply in love.

We see the complicity growing without any set up. We are just living life having fun and I am shooting every time I feel the need. Her curious and unsure eyes become full of passion and love. I did not expected to go through so many adventures with her when we met, but I am so glad of everything that happened. We live in different cities so sometimes we wouldn’t see each other for a short time, but when I’d come to her place or her to mine, we would do so many things and go to so many places in the same day, that’s what create all of the diversity in these pictures even if it’s always the same person posing.

I tried to keep it real the more possible to create more like a photography archivage. The first pictures were taking during photoshoots for most part, but when we really started to be a couple, we just started to hang out and I’d have my camera on me pretty much all day. We would go for a swim or anywhere and I was always here taking shots while she was walking around, tanning, sleeping, eating or what ever she was doing. All of the pictures are in chronological order to show day by day our doing and the evolution of our intimate. Every single picture represent a specific moment, something real that happened without any set up.”

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
