Swedish/American trio Thieves Like Us have just released their new somehow “retro weird” video, in support of the band’s latest self-titled album, coming out soon via Seayou Records / Rough Trade Distribution. “Broken mirror” is a piece touching to schizophrenia. He tells the story of a person torn by the decisions and the paths that she must take in his life. Who are we? Where do we come from? Do the cuts ever heal?” they explain about “Broken Mirror”. “All the percussion and the bass were recorded in live and in studio to give an appearance more funky in the piece, the overdubs have been added afterwards.” The magic of this track is that it sounds like stright out of the ‘80s, being both melancholic and edgy at the same time.
