New Zealand born singer Wallace teamed up with producer and vocalist Jerry Agbinya aka Crooked Letter and out of this collaboration the track Wallace emerged – a sound where you won´t be able to sit around quietly. Created on a beat that samples Nigerian funk it invites to cut the rug or at least to make some smooth moves. Diaspora deals with Jerry´s African roots as well as Wallace´s Scottish family background. “I wanted to highlight the connection that we both feel towards places where we didn’t grow up”, says Wallace on the track. “We bonded over the idea that looking back at our roots gave us a sense of affirmation and appreciation for what makes us who we are”.
