Carefree Summer with Gigi Ringel by Lotte van Raalte

While I sit here writing those lines a cool breeze blows through the window. Yet a wonderful warmth cocoons me gently. The newest series of photographer Lotte van Raalte of Halal Amsterdam with model Gigi Ringel of Ulla models captures the essence of carefree summer moments.

“The shoot took place at the “Zandverstuiving” near the city Apeldoorn where Gigi grew up.” Lotte explains. “This lovely nature area with sand dunes is still one of Gigi’s favourite places to go. She often bikes here to walk around or just to chill. So it has a nostalgic meaning to her, but is also still a place where she comes to find peace of mind and inspiration.

I asked her for this shoot because of her looks but also because of her inspiring instagram account where you can find lots of travel images. She just got back from a year living in Australia with her boyfriend. I could very much relate to all the travel and beach pictures since I travel a lot myself and grew up in “Scheveningen” next to the beach.

I felt a strong connection with her during the shoot and this was one of my favourite locations in Holland.”
