Welcome London based photographer Steven Haoyang Lai on C-Heads. “Back in 2015 when I started photography, I’ve always wanted to submit to C-Heads. It´s a wonderful opportunity to showcase my work and become someone who can inspire others following their dreams to photograph.” Steven smiles. The Taiwanese photographer and jewelry designer has lived in Australia and the USA for some time. Always following his dreams. He has been studying and living in London for two years now.
His works mainly consist of portraits with precise clarity. Talking about the series he explains: “When I approached model Damu Lee, we decided to shoot the very next day, and we haven’t even discussed the shoot details. Both of us trusted each other with our creativity. We wanted to capture the most natural, raw, and authentic look of a European girl living in London. I thought the best way to show this was to spend a day with Damu at my studio, hence the title: A Day With Damu Lee.”
Damu Lee, what do you like most about yourself?
The fact that I feel like I’ll never grow up.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
You’re not too old for rollerblades.
What makes you feel good?
Meeting creative people
And what makes you feel sad?
To love someone who doesn’t love you back.
Do you ever get shy in front of the camera?
This made me think, but I guess being in front of camera teached me that there is no reason in the world to be shy.
What do you expect from life?
To be happy and make those around me happy.
