Creating and listening to music can have various positive effects on emotion, mood and mental health. We have asked three artists about their expression through music, and how it brings people together.

“The best thing about music is the way it brings people together. During the week everyone just lives their separate lives which can be stressful with work and other personal problems for people. Events give people something to look forward to- it gives everyone a chance to come together, let loose and just enjoy themselves without worry or fear! We love the close knit family vibe that our events have, its like one big support unit and the love is real.”

“Music can cut through all the problems in your life. Whether it’s to dance the pain away or to sing along to your favourite song that directly speaks to you. We’ve always found solace in the power of music and love that the truth comes out when we write and let life happen. Anytime we’ve felt frail – we’ve always tried to talk it out. Anytime it’s felt too much – we always try to reach out. A problem shared is a problem halved and we’ve had our fair share of problems to overcome.”

“Music has been life changing for me in terms of mental health. Listening to and making music is such a huge tool to process and express thoughts and emotions, and provides that feeling of stability when other things in life aren’t travelling so well. When I’m making tunes it’s just me and my ideas, and all the drama takes a back seat.

Not only that, music has introduced me to so many amazing people and a bunch of my closest friends, and I have those people to thank for always feeling supported and encouraged to do my best.”

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
