Welcome Lella Soper on C-Heads! The London-based photographer lived in LA for the past 6 months. “This was an opportunity to grow as a photographer, and now I am back in the UK and ready to share my work. I have been in and out of photography for the past five years never knowing whether it was the right decision to stick with it or to try to do something more financially practical. However my creative passion never seemed to let me move on from photography.”
In her new series named ‘Reconnecting’ she teamed up with her best friend and model Zoe to create this utterly beautiful series full of daisies and smiles. “I was committed to convey a message about reconnecting with nature during lockdown and starting from fresh. Even though the pandemic was extremely painful for a lot of us it did also bring some positives and a chance to reflect. Being restricted to one’s own home and nature gave some of us a chance to reconnect with the beauty of nature and to avoid the distractions of the everyday busy life we normally find ourselves in. Listening to birds singing, smelling the grass and looking up to the sky during British Summer time was something I had not done since I was a child and I wanted to reflect this in some of the images we took. In my work I like to focus on shadows and light, since being in LA it gave me the chance to be surrounded by good light – something we don’t get much of in the UK, so when I see a chance to shoot in good weather I will jump at the opportunity.”
