After the first wave of the pandemic, I moved to Lisbon. It was a spur of the moment decision. But for me, it wasn’t just a new city. Something in me changed. I got the feeling it was finally my time, to allow myself to be open to love.
In this time of darkness in the world, I found it. Not just romantic love. Love for my best friend, who moved to Lisbon one month later, who I now share an apartment with. Romantic love, which I found within months of moving here. Love for this new and beautiful city, which I now call my home. Love for photography and the people who’s spirit I am lucky enough to be able to photograph.
These photos, for me, represent all these kinds of love. Like flowers blooming from the cracks, bringing light to these dark times.
