I must confess that electronic music is my greatest love. It is the sort of music that makes me feel intensly; my body dances in step and makes me forget everything that is torturing me in my thoughts. It’s artists like Alex Zelenka who create sounds that open up to me completely, that are literally made for me. The talented producer and DJ from Chicago is notably known for his work with Crystal Castles and Telepopmusik and some of his favorite new artists are Eartheater and Terror Forms.

His output is expansive – and his release list is long: 5 vinyl releases and over 80 songs. His tracks are groovy, timeless and deep. Sometimes rather technically brittle, sometimes playful and sometimes with a tendency to melancholy.

His latest release “Gave Everything” Sick Boy Remix comes along with a minimalist black and white video. Alex explains: “The video was made by Robert Smit aka Sick Boy for his remix. He really put his heart into this and I love him forever for doing so.” We follow the streets from the perspective of one person. Diving into the everyday life of families with strollers, people going to work or walking their dog. There is something almost mystical and dystopian about the genre-mixing sound that builds up like a honeycomb, clawing its way deeper and deeper. It pushes forward and forward in order to discharge itself at the end – so as if it has given everything.

Hello from my planet! I love nature, freedom, dancing, traveling, music, reading, chilling, cats and the woods. What makes me happy is healthy food, a good night out, long walks in the forest and getting lost in the sound of nature.
