The 2021 released EP “ANTRACYTE” of the singer, songwriter, producer and performer Mulay explored the themes of deception, guilt, condemnation and losing and rediscovering oneself. And in her new single “SEE ME” – out of of the forthcoming “IVORY” EP – the extraordinary talent once again provides a deep insight into the lessons of life and the process and pain of letting go.

“I myself love to work interdisciplinary and collaborate with artists from different fields and inspire each other. I want to take people on a journey where everyone can lose themselves and discover themselves.” the now-blonde Berlin-based singer told Untoldency in an interview. And her songs follow each other like a collection of diary entries, written from the depths of her soul.

With all this emotional openness, there remains something mysterious about the artist that makes us want to know even more about her. Not many people have this ability to blur the boundaries between the person herself and the artist. And she succeeds – intentionally or not – incredibly well. The music itself thrives on an absolute perfection, and also SEE MEE feels like an astonishing gentle wave that soothingly wraps around you and immediately pulls you under its spell.

“It’s about feeling stuck between the impossibility of moving backwards and the inability of moving forward, about feeling trapped in an inescapable spiral of pain.” She continues: “Even though the lyrics deal with pain and heartbreak, the upbeat production gives a lightness to the song that hints that the pain described is actually just a part of the process of letting go and a step towards acceptance and ultimately healing. We cannot hold on to love. We can only cherish and nourish it once it finds us and practice acceptance and gratitude for having experienced it, once it leaves. It will hurt. like hell. But you will live through it and get out on the other side. You will grow and it will bring you closer to yourself. Sometimes things need to end, so others can begin. Sometimes we have to let go, to say goodbye to what we know, to create space for change, so we can transform.”
