“It’ s my first time being here and I fell in love with the city.” photographer Daniel Morres tells enthused about Cape Town, the place he has relocated for the next few months. A new place sharpens and challenges our perception and therefore gives new inspiration and his first photo shooting, with model Dominique Naidoo, in his temporary home gave Daniel the opportunity to explore new sensory impressions thanks to amazing scenery. “We really got lucky, because when we started to shoot, the whole viewpoint was covered in mist and you couldn´t see anything. But after half an hour it started to clear up again and we had an amazing view.”
We had a quick chat with Dominique:
Dominique, what moment made you fall in love with modeling?
The second I gave myself a chance & that feeling of falling in love with myself more over time, seeing that I’m able to do so much more than I thought, the acceptance it brought me, helped me grow & blossom into being this version of myself that I am today.
What are you spending your money on?
Trying to survive in this world. Also doing my best to save for the future & rainy days & if I’m able, help those I can.
How much time do you spend with your friends and family?
If I’m not working, then every moment I am with family & friends as they are so important to me.
Are you a good listener?
(laughs) My bf says when I don’t have my phone in hand, then yes. I like to be attentive & there for whoever I’m with, I’d like to make people feel seen, heard, but my mind can wonder & get distracted sometimes .
Favorite city?
My home, Cape Town, South Africa.
What do you have for breakfast on weekends?
I’ve become a big on breakfast kinda girl lately, so always keen for brunch – love an eggs Benedict, anything on a bagel or flapjacks.
What are the “little things” that make you happy?
The small moments, the things that some might think go unnoticed, watching a sunset or sunrise, being intentional or having intentional conversations, being with friends, pure kindness, grace, doing skincare & food.
What do you expect from life?
To be happyyy (smile)
