I am not fond of having this feeling that time is slipping through your fingers like water you can’t catch. But at the same time, I enjoy the moment of a timeframe coming to an end. To pause. To reflect. To focus. And without resorting too much to clichés, I find myself wondering about the important moments of this past year. Have I really used my time well? Have I grown at all? What do I want from this year?
At the same time, I must admit that I’m somewhat tired of constantly trying to find perfection and optimization within our lives, and answers to so many questions. Because I feel that with every step we take to grow, we unlearn other things.
And no matter how well we use our time, things are never perfect. So like time, every year of life is also a bit like water you can’t catch. It finds its own way, alternating between gently purling and rapidly streaming. And as I sail along this year, I might catch a glimpse of both the darkest clouds and the brightest sun.
