“It was just another morning, but there was something very subtle and new about it. In some ways, the difference was so nuanced that, paradoxically, the whole morning felt quite different from any other morning. She wondered if that was the point.
Zoey noticed how the morning sun reflected in the water, and pointed out that it had a “silvery” quality on film. But instead of looking metallic and cold, it would feel almost contradictorily warm and charged, radiating novelty in a way. So would the morning.
Postponing going out, even for a second, felt very out of place. So did the thought of clothes for outside. She pulled the hotel bathrobe over her nightclothes and stepped out of the shower with her wet hair.”
