Located in the energetic heart of Downtown LA, the “What We Do” photo series offers a vivid homage to the dynamic black culture. The series has been brought to life under the creative direction of Latham Ford and through the lens of the talented photographer Brandon Hicks.
Inspired by the defining moments of the 90’s and 00’s, Ford and Hicks capture young, bold, and unapologetic individuals radiating their charm in a tableau of raw urban settings. The urban black lifestyle is uniquely depicted, showcasing an effervescent style as vibrant as the city itself. “Through my creative lens, I sought to capture the essence of that time, recognizing it as the pinnacle of originality and a testament to the beauty of black culture.”
Behind the scenes, Jessica Harris, the creative and wardrobe stylist, contributed to the striking visuals along with the nail art from Christina Aguerra, makeup by Esther Foster, and hair styled by Ar’Tavia Harris. The series features models Mikey Kravitz, Johari Nandi, and Nesha C from the Ten X Talent, Inc.
